Hello everyone!

Apologies for this late post, I hope all of you have been having a good week.

I was thinking of doing a mini review on yesterday’s VS Arashi episode but I wasn’t too entertained by it that I decided to go with last week’s hilarious bump sumo. So when I say mini-review it'll be more of a commentary on how entertaining the episode has been.

FIRST SET — ATHLETES
Sasaki Yusuke, Takeda Nobuhiro and Shimizu Hiroyasu. [ I mean this in the best of ways, each time I see Takeda-san, I can’t help but think this is how TOKIO’s Taichi Kokubun will look look like in 15-20years…]

A speed skater, a soccer player and a pro-wrestler on Matsumoto’s team. That’s already a scary thing to begin with, but if you’ve watched Sasaki-san in other shows she comes off as a gentle giant. Very soft spoken. And wait…
What’s happening here?

I won’t reveal the results but let’s just say it didn’t go as expected—with someone even causing himself to..well..self-destruct? XD

Next we have the atheletes from Ohno’s, Himura and Matsumoto’s teams. Himura-san’s teammate was a former professional sumo wrestler…This episode has its fair share of unfair moments from having a former sumo wrestler to having 2 petite (non-athletic) girls in 2 teams.

But he assures us that it’s been 15 years since he gone in the ring That’s…comforting?

SECOND SET - TARENTO
Darenogae x Tanaka x Komiya
While I’m happy Darenogare wasn’t up against Kano-san, she is so tiny.
Watching her enter the ring had me..well.. anxious.

Kikuchi x Kano x Kotouge

Looks like Kotouge san holds a bit of a grude towards Kikuchi-san who took a photo of him reading “ero-hon” inside a convenience store and posts it on twitter. Apparently she did that while they were taking a break from location shoot, that photo…ended up becoming internet news.

Oh dear…

THIRD SET - HOUSE TEAMS
First Set: Sakurai x Ohno x Ninomiya
So..Sakurai-san was the loser of the Bump Sumo from First BUMP Sumo between him and Aiba. So we ask Riida (who was said in an AniShi episode to be one of the strongest members) what he thinks of his opponents and he says:

He thinks the two of them will end up flying out.

He says it so expressionlessly that it makes a statement that would sound as cocky…well, seem like a matter of fact. Haha!

Second set: Himura x Matsumoto x Aiba

Up til this point in the game, it’s only Matsumoto’s House Division that has yet to have a point. Do you think they’ll be able to score a point?

I'll end my post there. I won't post about the elimination round so as not to spoil anyone's fun. Just a clue, up til the elimination round, each House Division was represented. :)

Hello. The full review of this episode is in my journal (

nijininare )but I thought of sharing the bank bowling clip where another episode of Sakurai-san's interesting omiyage gets aired.

The guests from this episode were from the movie, "Unfair--The End". For the second throw, Sakurai-san and Ninomiya-san were the ones on the platform ready to clean up the pins Aiba-san and the plus one guest, Fukuda-san, had left.

This is a pretty funny two shot. Sakurai-san looks barely up to the challenge while Ninomiya-san seems hyped up. Don't you think?

Heaven's voice starts: "Today (you're fighting) against the Unfair team..." Look at the expression of these two--listening intently. Heaven's voice continues with the the question:

"Between the two of you has something (that happened) recently made you think "That's unfair..."?"

Ninomiya-san immediately speaks up which prompts Sakurai-san to move around. ~~He looks like he's not too keen on where this conversation's going.~~ "

NOTES ON THE EPISODE/S:
It seems Ninomiya-san is always looking forward to Sakurai-san's omiyages but it seems that it doesn't always end up the way Ninomiya-san expected. The episode they had in bank bowling is similar to the previous episode where Ninomiya-san talks about a souvenir he received from Sakurai-san..**

For those wondering what I'm talking about there was a VS Arashi episode where Ninomiya-san says that he received a candle from Sakurai-san. When he lit it, he didn't like the smell saying it smelled like dust. To which Sakurai-san immediately points out "Hey! That was a souvenir I bought you from India!"

**Sakurai-san was on the guest team during this episode so it must have been the Nazotoki TV Drama guesting

Rating: 4/5
Reason: Starting with our Arashi boys who seem to be in a perfect form as funny moments were coming one after another. The guests were also fooling around quite a lot but the plus one guests Tomochika and Ivan were splendid in how they interacted with our stormy boys. I would say that even Itou-san had a good moment :D The gameplay was also good and it was freshened with few new rules. I don't want to overpraise this but even the editing staff did their best in here :D
Recommend: Sho is definitely the winner here. Aiba and Nino, either as individuals or a pair are also perfect. We also had bits of Juntoshi moments there~

I'm totally not procrastrinating at all. So sorry that I couldn't make this a regular thing, been caught up with other stuff (other fandom, lol so honest) So that's why I might be a bit too positive about the rating (I'm starting to doubt the point of that rating lols) but anyway. This is worth seeing. This is an episode where I couldn't stop laughing. Watch it. WATCH IT. :D

I decided that I have no life beside school and Arashi and so I'm here with yet another recap! I might be becoming a bit stricter, I'm not sure.

Rating: 2.5/5
Reason: It wasn't so bad but in case of Arashi it kinda lacked that sort of goofiness but I'd say it was because our boys were too excited to play against the former national football team of Japan. This guest team was actually entertaining, I would say the highlight of this episode are actually members from the guest team - Ruy Ramos (who appears quite regularly) and Nobuhiro Takeda. Regarding the plus one guests, it could have been better, one was overdoing it but the other girl was at least cute. The game was kinda good.
Recommend: Sho had some adorable fangirl moments haha. Eehh, but you won't miss anything if you skip this honestly.

I'm baaack with another ~~hours of my life spent on a~~ review of VS Arashi! Sorry it's been so long, I kinda plan to review the two episodes before this as well but they were not so worth it (I actually gave one 2/5... oh well!) But well, this one is 3.5/5 haha. I think I will never give 5/5 but I could 4/5 in the case where both guests are really funny/interesting. So far it's been just the one of them, or both being so-so. 3/5 means it is actually worth seeing it as long as you have enough time and don't have any deadlines like...tomorrow or somethin'. Yah.

Reason: I'm giving a slightly better rating because of the plus one guest Kame, who was awkward and cute, of Arashi having several funny moments especially Jun and Nino and because of the game being incredibly intense towards the end! The downside is that the guest team didn't impress me whatsoever although it had a familiar face well associated with Arashi - Uehara Koji.
Recommend: If you want to see Jun's brightest grin then what are you waiting for?! Nino is being his usual expressive himself and Kame is being adorably clumsy! Fangirls of these boys, definitely watch this!

Hello, Candy here and I'm here with another recap of VS Arashi! It's gonna be the last one this year so it has some wide expectations from Arashi side!

Rating: 3/5
Reason: This episode is still keeping its standard level of entertainment - since the guest team is in a way related to Arashi, we get to hear some funny stories about Arashi! Plus one guests have good moments but they were not so noticeable. The game gets intense in the end!
Recommend: Members have equal amount of good moments! (Jun is being a bit more distinctive here than in previous episodes!)

Hello I am back with another recap of VS Arashi! Thank you very much for your kind comments on my previous entry, I really appreciate it. This time I'm a little bit late so I hope you can forgive me. But enough for now!

I will never include an explanation of games unless it's a new one or there are new rules. I hope you know who Itou-san is (the MC or The Voice from the Above). That's all, your comments and thoughts are highly appreciated! You can even give your own rating.

Rating: 3/5
Reason: This episode has good moments with Arashi members interacting with the guest team. The guest team themselves were quite funny and the plus one guest had her good moment too. The funny moments were mainly based on the movement that you have to see for yourself to have a good laugh (It's not as good when described in a recap - screencaps don't do it enough justice).
Recommend: Probably mainly to Sho-biased and then Ohno and Nino have good moments too!

This time Arashi start off talking about club activities during their junior high school. Here Jun reveals that he was in a football club ~~i'm not gonna call it soccer!!it's footbaaaall~~ Which was apparently something that the members didn't know. Ready for a little bit of personal history? In fact, Jun's father played football, so little Jun did it in kindergarten as well. During middle school there was no football club so he joined the baseball one. During junior high school he stayed in the baseball club and joined a football club. Jun joined Johnny's in May during the first year of junior high school.
Smart Sakurai assumed that Jun trained football for no more than 1 month (since in Japan the school starts in spring).

Smart Sakurai was right and not-so-football Jun added that he did nothing apart from running around. (did he mean that he didn't even touched the ball?!)

Nino: What a special football.

This episode's guests are members of Originally Judo Club team! Some were very successful in Olympic Games (silver medalists!)

(the name should be telling that the members used to be in a judo club during school days :D) Almost everyone has black belt which is of course the highest level, only the female guest is one step apart from that level.

The plus one guest is Mochida Kaori, lead singer of a pop group Every Little Thing.

Arashi almost didn't know how to react. Apparently she appeared in the show 3 times before in the course of mere 10 months!

Mochida reveals she was in a Tenis club during her school days but Ohno is concerned about something else.

Ohno: And your partner is...? [He means Ichiro Ito, member of Every Little Thing]
Members correct him immediately that he shouldn't call him like that. Mochida is not bothered and explains that he's a bit busy.

Satou (girl) is asked whether she feels alright about the game. She is a bit nervous but the guy on the other side reassures her that she can rest her hands as he's gonna do it on his own anyway. The rest of the team disagrees!

Arashi don't think that Satou seems like a judo type, but she does it quite a lot. Apparently, she did classic ballet for 10 years and once she was in junior high school she entered Judo club.

Another guest was asked to share a story. So he told that when he had white belt only (the lowest level) he had to hide it in his bag when going to practice. But now since he achieved the black belt, he will always walk around with the black belt outside!

Next is Rolling Coin Tower! But before that, what are the judo memories of the comedian Takahashi?

He was once in a club where other guest (Yagi) was the captain. Apparently it was incredibly easy to cheat around him. They had this one exercise that was quite tiresome Yagi even showcased it (you kind of move up with your back, turning your hips and having your body directed to one side and then to other side) Everyone had to do it, but Takahashi just went up without doing the exercise when Yagi couldn't see him.

Next is Mochida! What were her memories?

She mentions liking Yawara! which is a story about a girl that has talent for judo. She is being forced to practice judo to gain championship in the Barcelona's 1992 Olympic Games. Machida talks mainly about how she liked the manga and liked singing the opening of the anime. Takahashi then reacts on what she just said.

Takahashi: The connection to this judo related episode is just too weak!

Then the conversation was diverted to 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic where Yoshida won gold medal for Japan.

They get ready. Arashi definitely don't want to knock the tower down.Sho suggets to go aggressive while looking at Mochida. Oh, how just how aggresive she'll be!

The game begins with Mochida but as soon as we enter the second round, we see some confused faces. (look at those two behind her)

The members can't believe their eyes. No, they'd rather just cover them.

But we can see that Mochida really didn't realize and looks like she's about to cry. Poor girl, she will get reminded of this throughout the whole episode. However, Jun and Ohno don't seem to be minding it, they are just still a little bit confused.

They forgive her as she apologizes vehemently and then Ohno goes:

Cliff climb!

First pair is Sho and Ohno combi! They discuss what strategy to use. The question is, who's gonna take the "finger" who's gonna take the "chin"? They discuss time management and Nino comes to the conclusion that Sho should do two sides [chin part, middle part] Sho is reluctant but other members are persuading him.

Jun: You managed to climb the "chin" once? [successfully]

Sho: I guess so.

Aiba: Then the next target for you is climbing it taking the two sides! [the middle part and the chin part]

Sho: Is it just me who has this kind of completion system?

Jun points out that it would be better like that also for the reason that there's no way to get from the middle to the left. The grips are so far away!

Nino: Or let's compare who has longer hands.

They compare but Ohno is exposed immediately that he's just making his arms look shorter.

But it's long decided. Sho will do two sides, Ohno will defeat the 'finger'.

Ohno clears the 'finger' with ease as he's quick and nimble.

It's turn for the guesting team. Hamadari and Yagi. Here Hamadari shows what he does when he wants to show people how Judo can be interesting. So Mochida volunteers for the demonstration. He practically tells the person how strong they look and then while he holds their hand he throws himself to the floor as if the other person was throwing him. Hamadari continues to play along.

Hamadari: Machida-san! This is worth Tokyo Olympics!

Then he suggests that a yell could take him down as well.

Sho: A yell? Then Ohno-kun.

Since they are judo practitioners they cleared the wall with ease.

Just one thing, I have seen people pressing the buttons with their hands or with their legs but I haven't seen anyone doing it with their head! Hamadari had also some little problems (just look at that!) with the chin but he made it in time.

But despite the Nino's fighting spirit, they didn't knock down the red pin. Nino pointed out that it wasn't that bad though. Since he threw the ball like some piece of trash or something. And when he demonstrates that again, somehow it seems like the ball is gonna knock the red pin down.

It's turn for the guests. First were Takahashi and Yoshida but they didn't knock down that much. After them went Ryou and Satou. She is asked about her confidence. She confirms her confidence but by accidentally saying a catchphrase of a comedian who does that during his "recital of erotic chinese poems'

They throw the balls and Satou knocks the red pin down! They praise her but then Sho gives a remark:

And the last game is Kicking Sniper! Arashi go first and must get more than 250 points to have a chance of winning. They start talking about the latest discovery of Jun being in a Football club. Jun isn't very happy about his performance lately though. Other members tell him the opposite and Ohno is being Ohno:

Ohno: Go with some confidence.

They are informed that the maximum score they can get is 860 points. So Ohno states their goal. 700 points.

And they do very well! First is perfect by Mochida. They leave no target without hits.

They got 650 points! They are obviously happy but start to regret how they couldn't get the remaining 50 points.

Especially Ohno. Or only Ohno? Then when Itou-san starts to mention the last target being taken down, there's a boy who starts to nod vigorously.

Hi, call me Candy! Decided to write some thoughts on Arashi programs so I might as well share it with you!

This is a "Review" or more like a Recap of VS Arashi 2014.04.12.
The following is a format I decided to keep for all of my recaps. I will never include explanation of the game unless it's a new one or there are new rules included in the episode. If this one day gets popular I might include the average rating of yours if you comment. My plan is to one day make a masterpost with the reviews in one list with the rating's included so it's easier to know which one is really worth watching.
Involves lots of screencaps!

Rating: 3/5
Reason: It was good in terms of some cute moments of Arashi members (this time mainly Nino and Sho) other members have a good moment as well. Then the plus one guests were okay but could be better. Guest appearance was okay but not too exciting. The game itself had quite a lot of exciting moments on the Arashi side.
Recommend: I would recommend this one mainly to Nino fans!

Normal episode with the usual entertainment and another repeatitive running gag. This time the highlight is Ohno (intentionally AND unintentionally, ha!).

We're going to have Johnny's guesting back to back for 3 rows huh? Starting with Miyake (V6) last week, we had Kazappon this week, and next week is Nagano (V6). FujiTV, when you're going to have the whole V6 on the show? I demand this to happen soon!

This episode has some golden moment, actually 1 particular historical event by itself XD!

I watch VSA based on the guests and plus one. And off course when my other fave Johnny's group guesting, I gotta watch.

This week's guest is V6 Miyake's drama team

I think Miyake features quite a lot in VSA lately, which is good. I like him doing more variety because he's like Nino & Aiba-chan combo in 1 person (the troll but klutz).

Some reasons to look forward in VSA:
1. Nino's fashion statement... This starts to slow down lately, the stylist run out of idea or Nino totally refuse to wear them. Only Nino can tell us, but I hope we're blessed with more Nino's fashion in the future.
2. Arashi fails, off course
3. Nino's trolling
4. Some specific moments, which totally depends on who is the guest of the day (this is totally random, unfortunately)

For this episode, I'll just cut to those that I find it entertaining (there are others but it's too long for cap)

Its finally here! MMDA! Gosh I’ve been looking forward to MMDA for a long time… finally I bring to you the episode review! Let’s go!

Note on the screenshots: I’ve changed the screenshot picture format from PNG to JPEG a few screenshots into this post, hopefully that will make the post load easier and faster… name wise you don’t see any difference since I’m too lazy to change each time from my blogging tool, but i checked on my photo host and the photos were *slightly* smaller than before (previously picasa also does not upload the full image size already I guess).

Really, I finished part one like more then 2 weeks ago… but I ended up being hospitalised for 12 days, and that really made me lose momentum in doing this episode… I’m just so glad to be finally back home, even though I have to walk using crutches again sigh… T.T

Hi guys! Nope, this is not a review. Just came across something really cool (IMO anyway) and I absolutely want to share it with you guys. (Mod please pin it to the side as well :P )

nachosnpaprika has made a fantastic in depth episode guide for VS Arashi! I was not part of the making in anyway, but the massive list has certainly impressed me! It's got stuff like the games played each episode, weather Arashi won or lost, who's the MDA, 10 second challenge game played... even a sheet for storing all the statistics like how many times each game has been played so far! Cool, is it not? :P I'm definitely interested in those stats at least... not sure about you.

What it does not have, is things like where to get each episode. For that the current pinned episode guide does have some info though.

Ok! Let’s continue. I’ll just split my posts into two in the middle I guess, rather than wait for the post failure because post is too large notification to appear at the end...

So now it’s the guest team’s turn at bunk bowling! (Strictly speaking the romanji for this game is bank bowling, but they pronounce it as bunk instead of bank so I just prefer to type that since I’m constantly hearing bunk, bunk, bunk… ah what? I’m the only person who calls it bunk bowling instead of bank bowling? opps! >< )

NewImage The guy loves bowling a lot, today too, he’s brought his own bowling ball.

NewImage Off they go!

NewImage AH! The balls collide midway!

NewImage Now the balls are completely off course!

NewImage Nakayama’s ball skimmed off a mere three pins

NewImage While Imori san’s ball rolls back ever so slowly

NewImage It hits the side, bounce back… and hits off a single blue pin!

NewImage They score 22 points! :P

NewImage Next up is this two!

NewImage From this angle is looks almost like it’s only the first throw :P So many pins left!

NewImage Akiyama does a gag, but since i dont know who he’s imitating… ><

NewImage He still took off the mask at the very end though.

NewImage It’s the second last game, and my, a mere 4 points gap between the two teams!

NewImage J: (in a serious tone) Up till now Chinen-kun has tried his best, at least that’s what I feel. but Ohno-san hasn’t acknowledged that yet. I think that Chinen can do well in this though
C: Hai!
J: I hope to see his (good) performance later.
C: I will do it well and make everyone surprised! NewImage They reenact the trapeze act Chinen did during a concert last time… The pro was hanging upside down from the swing, and the guy caught him by the legs and then he lets go...

NewImage J tries to flip upside down but just ends up swinging towards the wall :P

NewImage Its gotta do with the wiring of their safety harness as well after all :P

NewImage Aiba requests that they try once more.

NewImage This time the staff lifts J up XD

NewImage But he still fails XD

NewImage J: What’s this! What’s this!

NewImage They show the relevant clip from HSJ’s 2010 concert.

NewImage Anyway Chinen believes that he’s got the strength and will be able to climb the wall. S encourages him and asks him to show Ohno his good performance.

NewImage Of course, he’ll be climbing the chin of the wall.

NewImage C: I think I can do it.

NewImage N: Sa, Matsumoto-san, leave 100 seconds? (for Chinen) J: 100 seconds?

NewImage O: *laughs* 100 seconds?

NewImage A totally serious J starts the climb!

NewImage He asks for the first grip!

NewImage He’s fast!

NewImage WOW! Right on the dot! Its exactly 100 seconds left when he presses the button. He’s gotta make his way down though...

NewImage Baton pass and now its Chinen’s turn!

NewImage Chinen makes his way with swiftly.

NewImage He climbs up and reaches the 30 points green button without asking for a grip! He’s really trying very hard ne?

NewImage And then he loses his grip and falls! Haha… just as I thought would happen… he was looking pretty unstable on the way up already ><

NewImage Its game over for arashi!

NewImage I bet J’s thinking “I climbed so fast for nothing!” haha!

NewImage Sometimes you can’t try too hard ne? ><

NewImage And Ohno was all prepared to pass Chinen the grip...

NewImage Lololol…!

NewImage O: Look at me!

NewImage O: Rely on the grip!

NewImage Chinen said something about being unable to use all his strength in the actual filming.

NewImage Next is the guest team!

NewImage Somehow… it became narration based. Lol… the first time cliff climb became narration based? The guest released the grip when Joy was totally not asking for the grip...

NewImage NO WAIT! The grip was not in the basket at all, its being held by the supporter!

NewImage They couldn’t pass the grip properly...

NewImage And it happened later with the 2nd climber too… the grip was delivered properly this time… but the climber didn’t grab it.

NewImage In the end they score 180 points. Not much better than arashi lol!
Sho commented that both of the cliff climbs were terrible (arashi and the guest team’s) They talk about the first grip. The girl said only the basket went off, without the grip. Joy corrected her: No, I haven’t even call for the grip yet!

NewImage The last game is Korokoro viking!

NewImage The guest team is going first!

NewImage There’s only a 29 point score difference!

NewImage Akiyama does another gag...

NewImage Apparently the guy appeared in a commercial as seen in the cut.

NewImage Sho thinks that the combination of Joy and the guy in green won’t work out well. Guy in green: Sakurai-kun you think so? I think so too!

NewImage 30 points for the first ball!

NewImage the 2nd ball gets 50 points!

NewImage And 50 points for the 3rd ball as well!

NewImage Aw, the golden ball only made it into the 20 point zone though

NewImage Sadly the no 50 points for the last ball. If it did make it into the 50 points zone, arashi would be in big trouble!

NewImage Its Arashi’s turn now! Can the Chinen Ohno combo perform?

NewImage They need to get 270 points and above to win! Seems kinda hard considering their performance lately… last week was what… 25 points?

NewImage Of course, the MC has to remind everyone that as regular players Arashi has to deal with the -30 points block.

NewImage Sho has a confession to make! He is kind of from Gunma. During the summer and winter holidays, he’ll return to Gunma.

NewImage He talks about appearing in the card game competition or something that one of the guest had took part in… and he knows about the food there as well… he doesn’t know all the sentences in the card game, but he has it at home.

NewImage J and N: Souka…*looking disappointed*

NewImage J: Honestly I’m completely at a loss now

NewImage S: Sorry i didn’t say it. I thought of it during the bowling though

NewImage S: I though of it when i was doing the “za seto kai ten shiyagare"

NewImage And now that the confession is over, Sho shifts back into the MC mode. S: I think at the end the most important thing is for the two of you to patch up your relationship. N: I think Chinen was quite sad you know? A: I think so too... throughout this whole day...

NewImage O: Ja, lets combine our strength together. (Chinen) don’t have to do so much, I’ll do it.
Everyone: OHHHHhhhh! Can the two of them really work together and achieve victory?

NewImage They start to show the erm… series of unfortunate events that happened to Chinen all day… first was scoring 0 points in kicking sniper...

NewImage And then making the tower collapse in rolling coin tower...

NewImage And then failing to hit the red pin...

NewImage And finally falling off the cliff climb wall… not a single good performance all day!

NewImage Can he do well with Ohno at the very end?

NewImage Game start!

NewImage 50 points for the first ball! Lets hope they can keep this up! The -30 point zone is worrying ne? ><

NewImage 10 points for the 2nd ball… so far so good...

NewImage 50 points for the 3rd ball, nice!

NewImage The golden ball is here! If they can nail this the chances of a win is pretty high...

NewImage And they did! Wow! Its been ages since we last saw Arashi play so well! (or so seriously, or both)

NewImage Just avoid the negative zone...

NewImage 10 points this time round. Ohno isn’t trying too hard for the 50 points zone, they hardly stop and wait for the bridge’s movement, but rather just go with the flow… I think that’s why they’ve not gotten a single negative points so far…

NewImage 50 points! Last golden ball left… anything but the negative zone...

NewImage Ohno’s like *opps* we missed the 50 points zone :P

NewImage They wait for the MC to announce their score...

NewImage 290 Points! They’ve won!

NewImage They did it! Chinen finally had a good performance XD

NewImage The MC asks Chinen how was it. C: Yappa Ohno-kun sugoi! All I did was really… I just supported the handles! Ohno-kun did all the work!

NewImage And so arashi won today’s VSA!

NewImage Sho asked Chinen was he felt about today. C: A lot of things happened, but really, Ohno-kun is the best in the world!

And so it ends with Ohno rubbing his knees and Nino bowing continuously to apologise… XD
